Robbie - Utah Headshot Photographer

Robbie is a good friend of mine who I met this past couple of months, after I moved to Springville. Robbie has a lot of great qualities, some of which include that he is honest, loyal, kind-hearted, and the list could go on and on.

A couple of weeks ago, Robbie asked me if I would be willing to take some headshots for his new career in acting. Of course I obliged! Robbie turned out to be a natural, and we had a lot of fun on his first photo shoot ever! He took direction really well, and I am and was really impressed with how well he took direction.

Robbie, I just wanted to say that I am really proud of you for taking this chance and doing something that you really want to do. I really believe in you, and think that you have the potential to be extremely successful in this field. Always work hard, and never give up! You've got a lot of people rooting for you!

Weddings, Weddings, and More Weddings!

This past couple of weeks has been a little bit insane - October 8, 9 and 16th I shot all day weddings. Normally, for those who know me, know that I shoot one a month, with other jobs in between. Thankfully, the brides I have been working with have been really amazing, and I have loved getting to know them and their grooms better!

Congratulations, Amanda and Tyler, Tara and Larry, and Auburn and Jamison! Thanks for making me a special part of your day. Each of you brought great new experiences into my life, and much, much fun! May each of your marriages be filled with love, laughter and kindness, and may you always remember how happy you were on your wedding day!

The Day I Bought a Stranger a Coke

Although I know that this is a photography blog, I had to document my most recent social experiment, given by my awesome Business Writing professor, Shayne Clarke (not spelled S-H-A-N-E!).

My Professor challenged our class to make a blog post this week about buying a stranger a coke. In true fashion, at 11:10 p.m. last night, I headed to Chevron to purchase a coke to give to a stranger. As luck would have it, the only person within eye distance was the cashier, whose name is Josh. I asked him if he liked Coca-Cola, and he confusingly replied that he did. I then asked if I could purchase a coke, and then give it to him. His response was -

"Wait - is your professor that falconry guy?"

Turns out the guy that I bought the coke for, named Josh, had taken Professor Clarke's Business Writing class two years ago, where he was given the same exact assignment.

Shayne, you will be happy to know that Josh informed me that he still blogs in the blog that he started in your class two years ago. Happy Monday, everyone!

Tara - Utah Bridal Photographer

Tara is beautiful. One of my favorite things about her is how kind, sensitive, and what an absolute sweetheart she is. She is constantly putting others before herself, and I just think she is such a beautiful person, on the inside and out!

Tara is one of those people that you absolutely want to be friends with - the kind of person who would drop everything just to make it to your side whenever there may be a crisis. I haven't known her for very long, but I have had SUCH a great time when I have spent time with her!

We chose to shoot Tara's bridals on Center Street in Provo - a GORGEOUS place if anyone is ever interested in taking pictures there. Tara got whistled at, honked at, and even wished a "good luck" by one such man - whom I think may have been homeless. She was as gracious and beautiful as ever - Larry is a VERY lucky man!

Harmony also came along, who is Larry's sister-in-law, and soon to be Tara's as well! She was a HUGE help, and we had such a blast going from place to place along Center Street, shooting Tara's bridals!

Congratulations, Tara! You are such a gorgeous bride, with an unbelievably gorgeous dress! I can't wait for your wedding day!

Amanda & Tyler - Utah Groomal Photographer

I have known Amanda since I was 14-years-old. She has always been a beautiful girl, and it has been so much fun getting to be her photographer as her special day comes closer. What people often don’t know is that being a photographer is a very intimate thing. While I take pictures of different couples, I come to understand the kind of relationship that they have, and I really love who Amanda and Tyler are together. When I take their photographs, I can see that they have a relationship built on trust, respect, and absolute adoration. I so admire that!

Amanda and Tyler met while they were living in the same apartment complex. I found out when we were doing their engagements that Amanda was actually dating one of Tyler’s roommates when she met him! Of course, I am sure the roommate is now fine with it, because anyone who has spent at least five minutes with these two knows that they were made for each other.

One of my favorite things about shooting their groomals was to see how much they adore each other – everything from the way that Amanda laughs at Tyler’s jokes, to the way that his adoring eyes meet hers.

And get this – they both play soccer!

Special thanks once again to this family I have come to love - the Ellis family! Thank you so much for coming along and making Amanda and Tyler feel even more comfortable as I get to capture their incredible moments!

Suany & Steven - Sneak Peek! - Utah Engagement Photographer

One of my favorite things to do when I am first meeting and then photo shooting a couple is to find out more about them. I’ve got to say though, rarely have I met a couple more crazy about each other than Suany and Steven.

When I first met Suany and Steven, the first thought that went through my mind was, "Holy cow, what a cute couple!" I was impressed right away. They seem to "fit" - their session was so natural and so fun! Steven kept Suany laughing the whole time, and kept me and Chris (my boyfriend who came along to assist) also laughing the whole time!

I also found out that these two had lived just down the street from each other most of their lives, without even realizing it! How crazy is that?

As I hope that you will see below, these two were made for each other. Suany's smile says it all - these two are so in love!
